James Regis Bauer, Sr., 86, of Washington, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. He was born January 25, 1930, in Washington, a son of the late Gust Bauer and Bessie Welch Bauer. Mr. Bauer was a member of Washington Alliance Church, where he served as an elder. He loved hunting, fishing and playing dart ball, and enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Bauer was a retired union laborer for heavy and highway construction. On January 3, 1950, he married Shirley E. Byers, who survives. Also surviving are a son, James (Robin) Bauer, Jr. of Claysville; two daughters, Frederica (Dave) Lloyd of Stockbridge, Michigan and Beatrice (Bob) Dicks of Washington; two sisters, his twin, Delores (Reed) Gilmore of Washington and Margaret Citro of Morgantown, West Virginia; eight grandchildren, David (Jeanie) Lloyd, Kim (Jeremy) Killinger, Rhonda (Kevin) Cathers, Joshua (Dana) Rush, Jeremy (Jennifer) Rush, Jaime (Jason) Anderson, Rick (Kerri) Bauer and Janelle (Mike) Belvin; and 24 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a grandson, Frank Lloyd; two brother, George and Charles Bauer; and two sisters, Mary Rizzo and Sister Beatrice Bauer. Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 11th, in Washington Alliance Church, 246 Sanitarium Road, Washington, with Pastors Chuck Sprowls and James Newman officiating.
