Roxie Katherine Felton, 99, of Washington, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 in Southminster Place, Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born March 9, 1917, in Washington, a daughter of the late Samuel Caldwell and Della Grimes Caldwell. Roxie was a graduate of Trinity High School.She worked at Hazel Atlas Glass factory, and the Bobby Brooks Factory. She also was a waitress at the George Washington Hotel for many years, and retired from the Intermediate Unit One/Washington County Clark School, where she worked as an aide with handicapped children. Mrs. Felton was a lifetime member of First Christian Church, and was very active in many church activities and clubs, including 2 + 2 class. She was a member of the Buffalo Grange, where she coordinated card parties, and Lady Hogue Rebekah Lodge, where she served as a Noble Grand. She also volunteered at Washington’s Senior Citizens Center. Roxie enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, traveling to Europe, and the beaches on the Eastern Shore, as well as to casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, doing crafts and spending time with family. On August 7, 1936 she married Wilbur Esaw Felton, who died October 13, 1982. Surviving are five grandchildren, Dr. Anita (Robert) Marra, Timothy (Kelly) Felton, Beth Ann (Jay) MacDonald, Stacy (Will) Lykins all of Phoenix, Arizona area, Samuel A. (Jennifer) Felton of Cecil; eight great grandchildren, Heather, Brittany, Michael, Derek, Alexander, Lauren, Julia and Joey; one great great grandchild; daughters in law, Barbara Felton of Canonsburg, Regina Felton and many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband, are two sons, Wilbur K. Felton and Samuel G. Felton; four brothers, Roger (twin brother), Samuel, Ralph and Joseph; six sisters, Delphia Rush, Frieda Deems, Dorothy Johnson, Clea Wakefield, Della Tarr Sprowls, and Effie J. Burk. Friends will be received Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 10 to noon, the time of service, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, with Rev. Stephen Smythers officiating. Burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to a hospice of the donor’s choice or to Presbyterian Senior Care, Southminster Place, 880 S.
