Donald E. Cahill, 82, of Washington, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016, in his home.
He was born September 24, 1933, in Washington, a son of the late Raymond and Florence Porter Cahill.
Mr. Cahill attended Washington High School. He worked as a crane operator and roller at Washington Steel and was a member of SOAR – Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees.
Mr. Cahill spent six months of the year in Phoenix, Arizona and six months in Washington.
He enjoyed camping.
On February 20, 1952, he married Louise Renz, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jim (Shari) Cahill of Scottsdale, Arizona; a daughter, Cathy Heintz of Washington; a brother, Edward (Bette) Cahill of Troy, Ohio; a sister, Darlene DeSantis of Washington; three grandchildren, Bethany (Justin) Trovato of Los Angeles, California, Lindsay Heintz of Phoenix, Arizona and Brandon Cahill of Los Angeles; five great-grandchildren, Nathan Heintz of Washington, Elias Heintz and Aiden Heintz, both of Phoenix, and Max Trovato and Harper Trovato, both of Los Angeles.
Deceased is a grandson, Scott Heintz.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 18th, with Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
