Mandy Lee Balaban

Mandy L. Balaban Lagonda Homemaker Mandy L. Balaban, 81, of Washington, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016, in the Washington County Health Center, following a brief illness. She was born on November 4, 1934, in Waynesburg, the daughter of the late Lula Mae Pickens. On December 27, 1955, she married her beloved husband, Thomas L. Balaban, who survives. Mrs. Balaban was a graduate of Waynesburg High School, and enjoyed her life as a Lagonda homemaker. She enjoyed music, flowers, gardening, and her pets. Mandy especially loved spending time with her many friends. A member of the Washington Homemakers, she was also a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union, in Cokeburg, PA. Surviving, in addition to her husband, is her son, Thomas J. “T.J.” (Sherry) Balaban, of Avella, and several step grandchildren. Deceased, is a sister, Laura J. Haught. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Park.
