Emory S. Carter, 95, of Washington, died on Monday, June 6, 2016, in Kade Nursing Home.
He was born on October 24, 1920, in Washington, a son of the late Albert and Chloe McDougal Carter.
Mr. Carter was a veteran of the United States Marines, having served in World War II.
A retired laborer for Washington Steel Corp, he had also worked as a mechanic and auto body technician for Pete’s Garage in Washington, until it’s closing.
Emory was a member of the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American legion, and the Pulaski Club.
On August 2, 1948, he married Katherine Harvoth, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert (Margaret) Carter, of Bethel Park; a daughter, Susan Carter (Terry) Reffner, of Poland, OH; and three grandchildren, Meredith (Mitchell) Collins, Emily Carter, and Alan Carter.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services.
