Pete Stankovich, 87, of Washington, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington. He was born August 5, 1928, in Bentleyville, a son of the late Pete and Helen Roland Stankovich. Mr. Stankovich graduated from Bentleyville High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a coal miner at Bethlehem Mines, Ellsworth Division. Mr. Stankovich was a member of Ava Maria Church in Bentleyville and United Mine Workers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the Steelers. Surviving are a brother, Albert Stankovich of Maryland; four nephews, William Stankovich, Robert Stankovich of Texas, Jeffrey Stankovich of Maryland, and Michael Stankovich; and two nieces, Karen Jones and Terri Bryant, both of Maryland. Deceased is a brother, William Stankovich. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or service.
