Edward Wigman, 79, of Prosperity, passed away on Memorial Day, May 30, 2016.
He was born December 7, 1936, in Washington, a son of the late Edward and Jane Walker Wigman.
Ed was a 1954 graduate of Trinity High School. He was employed by Bell of Pennsylvania for 40 years, retiring in 1995.
Ed was a life member of Morris Township Volunteer Fire Department (Washington County). He was a two-term Morris Township Supervisor (Washington County) and had also served on the township’s planning commission.
On October 27, 1956, he married Virginia Lee Adams in Winchester, Virginia. They celebrated 58 years of marriage prior to her passing November 8, 2014.
Ed was a man of a million songs and enjoyed playing the guitar for family and friends. He was a true family man and was blessed to have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Surviving are four children, Keith Edward Wigman (Shane Bannister) of Phoenix, Arizona; Kathy Lynn Wigman (Doug) Lesnock of West Finley, Jeffrey Paul (Alison) Wigman of Washington and Janey Ann Wigman (Timothy) Byers of Claysville; seven grandchildren, Jason Paul (Brittany) Wigman, Lindsey Allene Lesnock (Terrence) Shape, Austin Douglas Lesnock, Griffith Evan Lesnock, Hilary Jane Byers, Megan Nicole Wigman (Joseph) McGee, and Rachel Lynn Byers; and three great-grandsons, Colt Edward Shape, Erich Paul Wigman and Eli Terrence Shape.
Deceased is a son, Walter Griffith Wigman, who died in infancy.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Thursday, June 2nd at 1 p.m., in Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Larry Deemer officiating.
