Margaret A. (Gorby) Lindsay, 97, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2016, in her home. She was born in Washington, on February 23, 1919, a daughter of the late William and Kate Gallagher Gorby. Mrs. Lindsay was a graduate of Trinity High School, and had worked for a brief time, running the elevators at the Washington Hospital. She had also volunteered, collecting for the Red Cross, and working at polling stations. Margaret enjoyed baking and cooking. Mrs. Lindsay was considered a friend by all who knew her, as well as a wonderful neighbor. She was a caring and loving mother and grandmother. Margaret, in her own words, lived a wonderful and fulfilling life. Her husband, William Earl Lindsay, died in January 1986. Surviving are two sons, William “Bill” Lindsay Jr., and Kirk Lindsay, both of Washington; a sister, Sylvia Altieri, of Meadowlands; four grandchildren, Lori Ross of New York, Renee Lindsay of Florida, Jessica and Connor Lindsay of Washington; two great-grandchildren, Eric and Lindsay Ross, both of New York; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, Michael Lindsay, two brothers, Francis “Fat” Gorby and William Gorby, and two sisters, Loretta Henry and Juanita Sensky. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 20th, in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, PA. Those attending the graveside service should meet by 9:45 a.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
