Harry Eugene Evans, Sr., 83, of Centerville Boro, formerly of Malone Ridge Road, Washington, died Monday, May 9, 2016, in his home.
He was born July 18, 1932, in Washington, a son of Martin M. Evans and Elizabeth Mastnock Evans.
A 1950 graduate of Trinity High School, Mr. Evans was a veteran of the Navy and was honorably discharged July 17, 1953.
He worked at Brockway Glass for 33 ½ years and at Penn Mould for 10 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Mould Maker Union 142, Elks 776, Pulaski Club, TPA, AARP, Washington Senior Citizens Center, The Center in the Woods in California, and American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
Mr. Evans was an avid boater and enjoyed bowling and playing cards and dart ball.
On August 18, 1952, he married Ruth Romayne Bungard, who died April 24, 2013.
Surviving are a son, Harry E. Evans, Jr., (Marrie) of Scottsdale, Arizona; a daughter, Diana Yurkovich (Peter) of Washington; one brother, James Evans; two sisters, Violet Tustin and Albina Strnisha, all of Washington; two grandchildren, Evan Yurkovich (Morgan Wixted) and Danielle Haugh (Duke); and three great-grandchildren, William Evans Haugh, Sophia Grace Haugh and Henry Victor Haugh.
Deceased is a brother, Karl Evans.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 16th, with Rev. Jana Quisenberry officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
