Esther Ann Kowcheck

Esther Ann Kowcheck, 76, of Avella, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, in UPMC – Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. She was born May 25, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of the late Leonard Sphar and Virginia Stetson Sphar. Mrs. Kowcheck was a homemaker and member of St. Michael’s Church, Avella. On June 8, 1964, she married Hugh Matthew Kowcheck, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Eric Kowcheck (Chanin) and Mark Kowcheck (Theresa), both of Wellsburg, West Virginia; two daughters, LeAnn Garrett and Danielle Kowcheck of Washington; a brother, Donald Sphar of Port St. Lucie, Florida; a sister, Suzanne Mycyk (Omar) of Ambridge; grandchildren, Drake, Jocelyn, Jentzen, Tristan, Karleigh and Faith; and great-grandchildren, Aalyah and Addisyn. Deceased are two sons, David Scott Garrett and Daniel Kowcheck; one brother, Richard Sphar; and a sister, Melissa Blacka. Friends will be received from 3 till 6 p.m., the time of a Blessing Service, on Friday, April 29th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Father Robert Miller officiating.
