Angelo Michael “Baby” Ferrari, 75, of Washington, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in Donnell House.
He was born November 17, 1940, in Avella, a son of the late Angelo M. Ferrari and Rose Dotto Ferrari.
Mr. Ferrari graduated from Avella High School in 1959. He served in the Army from October 14, 1963, until his honorable discharge on September 26, 1965, with a rank of Private First Class. He served as an armored crewman and was an Expert Marksman. In addition, he received an award for excellence for outstanding performance as halfback of the 25th Infantry Division Support Command/Troops 1964 football team.
For 53 years, he was employed by Ironworkers Local #3.
Mr. Ferrari was a member of Avella American Legion 643.
On March 7, 1970, he married Shirley Jean Schlosser, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jacob B. Ferrari of Washington; two brothers, Michael Ferrari (Patty) of Washington and Frank Ferrari (Peggy) of Millville, New Jersey; two sisters, Mary Ferrari of Avella and Rose Ferrari of Washington; two sisters-in-law, Katherine Ferrari of Bridgeville and Nancy Ferrari of Wheeling, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, James and Biggs Ferrari; and three sisters, Gina Jones and twin sisters, Ellnora Hills and Matilda Ferrari.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 26th, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
