Dr. Joseph E " Brad " Bradley

April 3, 1951 — April 10, 2016

Dr. Joseph Edward Bradley, affectionately known as “Brad”, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Donnell House in Washington, after heroically fighting an illness for four and a half years. He was born April 3, 1951 in Harrisburg, PA, the son of Edward and Mary Bradley. Dr. Bradley graduated from West Virginia University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy. He later earned a doctorate in physical therapy from Slippery Rock University in 2004. He began working at Washington Hospital in the fall of 1973. In 1977, Dr. Bradley founded Bradley Physical Therapy Clinic, Inc., which continues to operate offices in Washington and Southpointe today. Tens of thousands of patients entrusted their care to him, and he treated each one with Christ-like compassion. His special areas of interest included sports and orthopedic injuries, cervical and lumbar spine, and myofascial pain syndrome. He also completed post-graduate work in cervical spine evaluation and treatment. His professional memberships included the American Physical Therapy Association, the National Christian Physical Therapy Association, and he served on the board of the Physical Therapy Provider Network. A long-time member of Central Assembly of God in Houston, PA, Dr. Bradley faithfully served his church body as a deacon, elder, and Bible teacher through the years. He had a great passion for teaching the word of God and evangelism. He loved sharing his personal testimony. His favorite question was always, “If you were to die today and stand before God in heaven and He were to ask you, ‘Why should I let you in?’, what would you say?” Romans 10:9-10 Although Dr. Bradley enjoyed sports and outdoor activities, his main focus was always building memories with his family. His legacy of faith, love, generosity, and sense of humor will remain endeared in the hearts of all who knew him. Surviving is his bride of 45 years, Patricia Turner, whom he met while attending West Virginia University. They were married on June 6, 1970. He was the proud father of three sons: Jason (Anh), David (Kristi), and Darren (Jena). He loved being “Papa” to his eight grandchildren: Connor, Ella, Grayson, Coleson, Makayla, Nora, Alayna, and Avigail. He is also survived by a sister, Tina (Greg) Simpkins of Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Friends will be received from 12-2 pm and 4-8 pm on Thursday, April 14 at William G. Neal Funeral Home, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, PA. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Friday, April 15 at Central Assembly of God, 155 McGovern Rd, Houston, PA 15342, with Pastor Kurt Jenkins and Reverend Ken Bradley co-officiating. Interment will be in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Assembly of God with the designation of “Bradley Memorial” in the memo line.
