Donald Lee Grandon, 79, of Washington, died on Sunday, April 10, 2016, in his home.
He was born September 25, 1936, in Washington, a son of the late Marion and Lulu Birch Grandon.
Mr. Grandon graduated from Claysville High School in 1955, and served in the Army from August 1955, until August 1958, when he was honorably discharged as a Private First Class.
An avid bowler, he was elected to the Washington County Bowlers Hall of Fame, having bowled three 300 games. He was a member of the Horseshoe Club of Washington and enjoyed hunting.
He retired from Jessop Steel as a craneman.
Mr. Grandon was a member of New Day Assembly in McMurray.
He was a loving and kind man with a great sense of humor.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Nancy Grace Henderson Grandon; a son, Eric Grandon (Nancy) of Claysville; a daughter, Dawn Dzurino (Gary) of Washington; a brother, Edward Grandon (Lynn) of Scottsdale, Arizona; four grandchildren, Scotty Grandon, Brady Grandon, Jake Dzurino and Eli Dzurino; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Grandon and Wyatt Grandon.
Deceased are a sister, Shirley Zofchak; a brother, Howard Grandon; two half-brothers, Jim and Harry Siebert; two half-sisters, Martha Siebert Chaney and Ann Siebert Main.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 13th, with Pastor Jeff Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
