Vivian Jean Loar, 85, of Washington, died Friday, April 1, 2016, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born August 14, 1930, in Washington, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Arnold Verderber.
A graduate of Washington High School, Mrs. Loar was a homemaker who previously worked at Bell of Pennsylvania as an operator, at PNC Bank as a teller, and for 10 years at the Unemployment Office.
She loved being with her family, music, dancing, and animals, especially dogs. Mrs. Loar was a Brownie Troop leader, starting the first troop at First Ward School. A league bowler, she was a member of the Pyramid Oil Team at Route 19 Bowl.
Mrs. Loar was Christian.
On February 18, 1950, she married Robert Lawrence Loar, who died September 23, 2015.
Surviving are a son, David Loar (Melody) of Nederland, Colorado; a daughter, Leslie Loar of Washington; a grandson, Thadius Loar; a great-granddaughter, Norah Loar; two sisters, Helen Abel and Mary Warnick, both of Washington; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Dorothy Wilson.
Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. till 1 p.m., the time of service, on Tuesday, April 5th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
