Ralph E. Sprowls, 82, of Washington, died on Sunday, March 20, 2016, in his home.
He was born on October 26, 1933, in East Finley Township, a son of the late Wade and Marjorie Walker Sprowls.
Mr. Sprowls attended Claysville High School, and worked at Washington Steel for twenty-five years as a millwright.
He was Protestant by faith, and he loved to travel.
On September 11, 1953, in Winchester, VA, he married Betty L. Cummins, who died on November 6, 2015.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Ralph) Arent, of Washington; two brothers, Lloyd (Judy) Sprowls, of Claysville, and Joe (Diane) Hancher, of Georgia; a sister, Debbie Ely, of Washington; a granddaughter, Kristan Arent, and a great granddaughter, Madelyn Burns.
Deceased are a son, Robert Sprowls, two sisters, Jean Scott, and Betty Moore, and his stepfather, D. O. Hancher.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, from 10 to 12 p.m., the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington.
Burial in Fairmount Cemetery will be private, and held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
