Helen Louise Thompson, 83, of Washington, died Sunday, March 6, 2016, in her home. She was born August 1, 1932, in Washington, a daughter of the late Frank Blacka and Olive E. Rowley Blacka. Mrs. Thompson attended Washington High School and was a self-employed bookkeeper for Thompson Auto Repair. She was a member of Glenn Street Free Methodist Church and a former member of the Auxiliary of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. On November 16, 1947, she married Fred Gene Thompson, Sr., who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Fred G. (Ann) Thompson, Jr., of Fresno, California, and James Thompson (fiancée Johnna) of Washington; one daughter, Joyce D. Hennick of Washington; a brother, William C. Blacka of Washington; three sisters, Shirley Hammond of Washington, Lois Allender of Ohio, and Ruth Carl of Washington; six grandchildren, Richard L. and Bryan Hennick, Laurie Blackhurst, Erin Kennedy, Shawn and Todd Thompson; and 12 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a sister, Jean Webster, and a sister who died at birth. At the request of the deceased, there was no public visitation. Private burial was held in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
