Audrey Marion Plants

Audrey Marion Plants, 87 of Washington, died, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Donnell House. She was born March 19, 1928 in Washington the daughter of the late Clarence W. Henderson and Vivian Maddox Henderson. Audrey graduated from Washington High School in 1946. She had once worked as an operator for Bell of Pennsylvania and also worked in the office for Hazel Atlas. She was a member of the Church of God in Wheeling, WV. Audrey enjoyed playing basketball and was on pick up teams when she was younger. She like to eat out, especially liked the Union Grill and had been going there since her teens. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of Bell Telephone Pioneers. On March 1, 1956 she married Raymond W. Plants who survives. Also surviving are a son, William R. “Bill” Plants of Washington; a daughter, Terri Rae (James O.) Martin III of Washington; a brother, Kenneth Henderson of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Nancy Grandon and Kathleen Alderson both of Washington; one grandson, James Raymond Martin; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
