James George Mcgavitt

James George McGavitt, 77, of Claysville, died Monday, February 29, 2016, in Donnell House, Washington. He was born January 3, 1939, in Stockdale, a son of the late George L. McGavitt and Flora Belle Lynn McGavitt. A veteran of the Army, Mr. McGavitt worked as a laborer and handyman at Route 18 Mobile Homes for 22 years. He was Protestant by faith. Deceased are his wife, Emily Ruth Martin McGavitt; a brother, James Patrick “Pat” McGavitt; and a sister, Rose Smarcheck. Surviving are his neighbors, Francis and Louise Horne of Claysville. Private burial was held in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Arrangements were entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington.
