Ethel Marie Patterson, 85, of Washington, died Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Washington County Health Center.
She was born January 5, 1931 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late James Miller and Elizabeth Patterson Miller.
Mrs. Patterson was a graduate of Trinity High School.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family, playing bingo and traveling.
Ethel was a kind and compassionate women who helped everyone.
On October 20, 1951 she married Samuel Patterson, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Samuel (Warnette) Patterson of Fayetteville, NC; four daughters, Pauline Patterson, Ethel Patterson and Donna Patterson all of Washington and Denise (Melvin) O’Neill of Columbus, OH; four brothers, William Miller, Joseph Miller, George Miller all of Washington and David Miller; three sisters, Mildred Katherine Bryant of Abingdon, MD, Barbara Bush of Houston, PA, Carol Jackson of Washington; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; hosts of nieces, nephews, notable friendships and extended family all who loved her dearly.
Deceased in addition to her parents are three brothers, James Miller, Wilbur Miller, Thomas Miller; five sisters, Edna Harris, Mary Patterson, Thelma Chandler, Alene Ellis, Eleanor Miller
Friends will be received Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. the time of service at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington with Rev. Richard White officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
