Joseph Cardamone, 69, of Washington, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 18, 2016, in his home.
He was born June 24, 1946, a son of the late Louis and Mary Cherry Cardamone.
Mr. Cardamone was a 1965 graduate of Penn Hills High School and was a Vietnam Era veteran of the Army.
He worked in the food service department at the VA Medical Center.
Mr. Cardamone attended Roadside Chapel in Pleasant Grove. He was a member of American Legion Hunt-Kennedy Post 639 in Claysville and was a long-time Democratic Committee member. He enjoyed history and watching The Three Stooges.
On April 28, 1990, he married Sherry Lee Wright, who died June 5, 2015.
Surviving are a son, Craig (Melissa) Wright of Washington; a daughter, Mary Theresa (Josh) Crowley of Parkersburg, West Virginia; an adopted daughter, Coleen Cardamone (Jason) of Pittsburgh; one brother, Lou (Darlene) Cardamone of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Edie Cardamone of Pittsburgh; and eight grandchildren, Christian, Taylor, Isaac, Grace, Grant, Mason, Cole and Gabrielle.
Deceased is a brother, Steve Cardamone.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, February 26th, in Roadside Chapel, Pleasant Grove, with Rev. Craig Wright officiating.
