Paul Wade Sanders, 84, of Washington, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, in the Washington Hospital. He was born December 27, 1931, in Washington, a son of the late Paul F. and Anna Miller Sanders. Mr. Sanders graduated from Washington High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War, and was discharged as a corporal. Mr. Sanders retired from Bell Telephone Company, where he had worked as a lineman and installer. He was a member of Washington New Hope Church of the Nazarene, formerly Hart Avenue Church of the Nazarene. On September 26, 1955, he married Ruth Jane Houston, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, John F. (Jennie) Sanders of Washington and Keith A. (Maryann) Sanders of Salsbury, North Carolina; a brother, Irvin (Edith) Sanders of Greenville; a sister, Susanne (Albert) Wilson of Trinity, Florida; six grandchildren, John P. (Whitney) Sanders, Jackie Sanders, Jennifer (Todd) Cutsuries, James W. (Laura) Sanders, Stacy (Reece) Ridenhour and Brian (Amanda) Sanders; six great-grandchildren, Brooke O’Donnell, Gwen Sanders, Lilly Shephard, Dalton Sanders, Bayley Ridenhour and Emma Sanders; and one great-grandchild, J. J. Wright. Deceased are a brother, Harry Sanders; and a great-grandchild, Alyssa Sanders. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 16th, with Rev. James York officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and active duty Army personnel.
