Lois Dale Smith, 89, of Washington, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016, in Evergreen Assisted Living, Washington. She was born January 4, 1927, in Washington, a daughter of Harry A. and Hazel Riddle Smith. Miss Smith graduated from Trinity High School in 1944. She was first employed by Peoples Bank on South Main Street, Washington. She retired in October 1990 from the Upper St. Clair office of PNC Bank. Also, she worked part-time for Harry M. Stevens, Inc., at the Meadows Racetrack. Miss Smith always enjoyed spending time at her home in North Ft. Myers, Florida. She worked on the election board in South Strabane Township and was a board member of the township’s Parks and Recreation department. Miss Smith was a 50+ year member of Faith United Presbyterian Church. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Sally Wibbels (David) of Adairsville, Georgia, Paul Smith (Karen) of Williamsburg, Virginia, Lois Gnagey of Washington, Agnes Lee (Ronald) and David Gnagey (Kathy), both of Meyersdale. Deceased are a sister, Jean S. Gnagey, and a brother, Clair R. Smith. At the request of the deceased, there was no public visitation. A private graveside burial was held in Washington Cemetery.
