Helen Louise Huffman, 84, died peacefully at home in Reno, NV on January 13, 2016. She was born April 17th, 1931 in Washington, the daughter of the late Guy and Inez Roberts.
Helen graduated from Trinity High School in 1949 and married Forney “Pete” Huffman on November 19th, 1949. They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Helen learned to sew and crochet as a young mother. These hobbies became the joy in her life that she shared with everyone that she could. Besides the beautiful memories that she made for her own family, she crocheted and donated hundreds of blankets to veterans, nursing homes, and to anyone else who touched her life.
Helen was a joyful person who loved her family immensely. Nothing gave her more happiness than to have her family around her.
Helen was a lady who truly let her smile change the world.
Surviving is her husband, Forney “Pete” Huffman of Reno, NV.
Also surviving are children, Barbara Jane Huffman of Washington, PA, Gary (Ruth) Huffman of Washington, PA, Linda (Kevin) Lasko of Reno, NV, Randy Huffman of Oklahoma, Sherri (Jamie) Bailey of Slippery Rock, PA, and Missy (Chris) Lotz of Lebanon, PA; thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one brother, James Roberts, of Ohio.
Deceased are one grandchild, five sisters, and two brothers.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, January 22nd at the William G. Neal Funeral Home, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 23rd.
