Doris Pauline DePolo, 91 of Canonsburg, formerly of Washington, died Saturday, January 9, 2016, in Canonsburg Hospital.
She was born May 2, 1924, in Lumberport, West Virginia, a daughter of George Franklin Lindsey and Cora Ann Miller Lindsey.
Mrs. DePolo attended Lumberport (WV) High School. In her younger years, she worked at Working Man’s Store in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Later she was co-owner and manager of Ideal Beauty Salon for 15 years.
Mrs. DePolo was a member of Christian Church of North America, where she was extremely active in the administration of the church throughout her husband’s pastorate there.
On February 24, 1940, in Winchester, Virginia, she married Rev. John DePolo, who died December 18, 2012.
Surviving are a son, Rev. Dr. Frank J. (Rebecca) DePolo of Belle Vernon; a daughter, Brenda DePolo (Dr. Ronald) Kludo of Boca Raton, Florida; five grandchildren, Philip (Cindy) DePolo, Jonathan (Janelle) DePolo, Heather DePolo, Dr. James Brent (Shannon) Morosco and Larissa Morosco (Matthew Parks); four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a special niece who helped care for her, Jean Spina.
Deceased are a grandson, two brothers and three sisters.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 till 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 till 4 and 6 till 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 14th, with her son, Rev. Dr. Frank J. DePolo, officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Christian Church, 32 Main Street, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
