Carol Ann Burgess

Carol Ann Burgess, 73, of Washington, died on Sunday, November 29, 2015, in Transitions Health Care. She was born on October 20, 1942, in Washington, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary McGary Bert. She attended Washington High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Burgess was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Carol was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother, who loved shopping, Chinese food, and making fudge. Her former husband, Lawrence Leroy Burgess, died on December 24, 2008. Surviving are four sons, Samuel L. Burgess, of Washington, William Burgess, of Washington, Richard Burgess, of Carmichaels, and Joseph Burgess, of Washington; five daughters, Jo (Jeffrey) Blakeslee, of Claysville, Sheri (Bernie) Fetterman, of Indiana, PA, Iona (Frank) Durbin, of Washington, Mary Ann (Don) Martin, of Washington, and Samantha Burgess, of Washington; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Glenda Burgess, and two sisters, Iona Adams and Leila Spencer. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 3, 2015, conducted by the Elders of the church. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
