James William Dodd Sr., 79 of Houston died Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Greenery Specialty Care Home.
He was born October 3, 1936 in Canonsburg, the son of the late John William Dodd and Hazel Scott Dodd.
James worked as the manager at Route 19 Auto Salvage for over 33 years and later owned and operated an Automotive Glass and Radiator Shop.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He defined himself with the relationships he shared with family and friends and he mattered to all.
James was a member on the Houston Borough Council.
On June 16, 1957 he married Leona Irene McVehil who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James W. (Pamela) Dodd Jr. of Houston and Donald L. (Donna) Dodd of Washington; a daughter, Debra L. (Keith) Erhart of Wexford; a sister, Ethel Dodd (Charles) Wolfe of McMurray; six grandchildren, Justin and Melissa Dodd, Ryan and Kelsey Dodd, Brandae and Camryn Erhart; a great grandson, Benjamin Quinohes.
Deceased are two brothers, Daniel W. Dodd and Jack W. Dodd; two sisters, Lois E. Snedeker and Marilyn A. Hastings.
Friends will be received Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens.
