Ellen R. Foutz, 93, of Washington, died on Saturday, November 7, 2015, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.
She was born on September 15, 1922, in Washington, a daughter of the late John P. and Philomena Yvonne Cosart Ruschel.
A graduate of Washington High School, she was a member of Church of Christ.
Mrs. Foutz had worked as a packer/selector for Brockway Glass.
Ellen loved spending time with her family, and playing with her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, who enjoyed cooking, cleaning, planting flowers, and playing the violin.
On June 5, 1943, she married Alfred Kenneth “Ken” Foutz, who died on December 14, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth (Carolyn) Foutz, of Washington; a daughter, Kathryn Y. (“Doctor Wayne”) Shanor, of Washington; a brother, Marwood Ruschel, of Okeechobee, FL; five grandchildren, Tanya (Kevin) Medwid, Jeffrey (Jenny) Foutz, Eric (Amy) Shanor, Valerie (Billy) Varesio, and Carrie (Neil) Edmondson; eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including Carol Pickens, of Cleveland, OH.
Deceased are a son, Kurtis Foust, two brothers, Norman and John Ruschel, and a sister, Laura “Jean” Walczesky.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2015, with David Deagel officiating.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
