Donald James Williford, 81 of Houston, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Hospital.
He was born September 6, 1934 in Lyons, Kansas, the son of the late Clarence Williford and Dorothy Nett Williford.
Donald graduated from Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, KS and attended Ft. Hayes Tech College and graduated from Wichita State.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed as a surveyor at Seismograph Service Corp. for 30 years and Precision Geophysical for 18 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and his German Shepherds.
Donald was a member of the Independent Oil and Gas Association in Ohio and New York and the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
On June 24, 1965 he married Vyiona Irene Campbell, who died March 22, 2011.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Howard of Beach Lake, PA and Susan (William) Darnley of Washington; three grandchildren, Ed Howard, Mark Howard, William Ruff; five great grandchildren, Cody Ruff, Caitlin Miller, Zander Miller, Faith and Zack Howard.
Deceased are two sisters, a brother and a grandchild, Tonya Miller.
Friends will be received Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where a Blessing service will be held Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jack Batykefer as officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Spring Cemetery.
