Douglas Eugene Strawn

Douglas Eugene Strawn, 66, of Canonsburg, died Monday, November 2, 2015, in Transitions Health Care, Washington. He was born June 24, 1949, in Washington, a son of the late Wilbert and Ida Mounts Strawn. A graduate of McGuffey High School, Mr. Strawn worked for Brockway Glass for 9 years and then for Waller Construction. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed high school wrestling. Mr. Strawn served in the Navy aboard the USS Vulcan. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Elizabeth Lawrence (Tom) of Canonsburg and Kay Barni (Les) of Washington, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 6th, with Mike Krajack officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
