Marjorie Melone Smagner

Marjorie Melone Liggitt Smagner, 87, of Houston, died on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. She was born July 2, 1928, the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Wenona Gary Melone. She married Robert W. Liggitt, who died in 1959. Following the death of her first husband, she married Mike Smagner, who died in 1984. Mrs. Smagner attended Chartiers Twp. Schools and worked in the dietary department of Mayview State Hospital for 18 years. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. Mrs. Smagner attended Houston United Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her daughter, Judith A. Liggitt of Houston; two sisters, Geraldine Melone Smith of Washington and Rose Melone Morgan of Bridgeville; and a stepdaughter Patty Scott of Taylorstown. She was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd C. Melone and an infant sister, Grace Virginia Melone. Interment will be private at Oak Spring Cemetery in Canonsburg. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, PA.
