Mary Ann Devenney, 74 of Washington, died October 22, 2015 in Washington Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 12, 1940 in Washington the daughter of the late LeRoy Ashmore and Anna Schneider Ashmore.
Mary Ann graduated from Claysville High School in 1958. She worked as a Pharmacy Tech and as a baker at the Washington Park School Food Service Department.
She was a member of Laboratory Presbyterian Church and was very active at church.
Mary Ann was a member of the Theo Burr Covered Bridge Society, a former member of the Buffalo Grange and volunteered at the Washington County Tourism Office.
On August 8, 1959 she married Charles William Devenney, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Steven (April) Devenney of Washington; two daughters, Lori (James) Naser of Washington, Karen (Edward) Thomas of Berlin; a sister, Shirley Allen of Claysville; five grandchildren, Brad and Zachary Naser, Bethany and Jacob Thomas, Jackson Devenney.
Friends will be received Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 with Rev. Donna Johnson. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery Mausoleum.
