Charles Thomas Boyd

Charles Thomas Boyd, 70, of Washington, died October 20, 2015. He was born May 17, 1945, in Washington, a son of the late Earnest James Boyd and Gertrude Margaret Bedell Boyd. Mr. Boyd worked as a laborer in the construction industry. He was a member of VFW Post 927 and the Slovak Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting pool. Mr. Boyd served with the Army in the 629th Support Company in Vietnam, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze service star. Surviving are a stepson, Clint Kuhns of Washington; four brothers, Rev. Thomas A. (Diane) Boyd of Lisbon, Ohio, William E. (Suzie) Boyd of Cuyahoga Falls, New York, Larry J. (Kathy) Boyd and Norman D. Boyd, both of Washington; a sister, Susan Pruski Hammond of Richeyville; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Earnest R. Boyd, Robert E. Boyd and Donald D. Boyd. Freinds will be received from Noon till 4 p.m., Saturday, October 24th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m., with Rev. William E. Boyd officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
