Dorothy Evalena Patterson, 78 of Washington, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Washington County Health Center.
She was born February 13, 1937 in Library, PA the daughter of the late General Smith and Anna V. Brown Smith. She was raised by Edward and Bessie Furman.
She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church.
Dorothy attended Snowden Township, now South Park School and Chartiers-Houston Schools.
She was a Girlscout leader for 16 years, and a member of the Wolfdale Booster, Little Washington C-bers and a minority clerk for Canton Township #2.
On September 16, 1954 she married Thomas Freemont Patterson, who passed away April 12, 1986.
Surviving are a son, Thomas W. (Jill) Patterson of Weston, CT; two daughters, Kelley Renae Patterson Ross of Raleigh, NC, Michelle Ann (Angelo) Patterson Labayen of E. Shroudsburg; a sister, Linda Rae (Gerald) McKinnan of Warren, OH; five grandchildren, Courtney Micheale Patterson, Eliseo Labayen, Evalena Labayen, Jacob Patterson, Ethan Michael Patterson; a great grandchild, Joseph Jeremy Patterson; a special cousin, Priscilla Rivera, with whom she was raised; her friends, Barbara Stewart and Sandy Shrontz; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased is a brother, William A. Jackson.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jim Schmitts officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens.
