James Charles Shoman, Sr.

James Charles Shoman, Sr., 73, of Washington, died Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was born June 16, 1942, in Charleroi, a son of the late James Edward Shoman and Helen Jesko Shoman. Mr. Shoman graduated from Charleroi High School. He attended school in Connecticut for airline training prior to becoming employed at United Airlines, where he worked for over 40 years as a cargo handler . Mr. Shoman was Catholic by faith. On January 23, 1963, he married Carol Ann Cornell, who survives. Surviving are a son, James C. (Amy) Shoman, Jr., of Smithton; two brothers, Robert Shoman (Kim) and Ronald Shoman (Nancy), both of Youngstown, Ohio; four grandchildren, Brooke, Lindsy, James III and Laci; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, Thomas Shoman. There will be no public visitation. Private burial will be held in Olive Branch Cemetery, Smithton.
