Emma Jean McGowan Hennick, daughter of William Alvin and Emma Justena Beam McGowan. Born December 28, 1928, one of seven children. She grew up working with her family on various farms, in Greene and Washington Counties. Emma graduated from Trinity High School in 1946. She then worked various jobs, one being Brockway Glass. She married and raised four daughters and was a volunteer for various special needs programs, such as Special Olympics, for her daughter, Judy. Later in life, she worked for New Medico and ARS, as an aide. Emma passed away on October 5, 2015 at the age of 86.
Frank Hennick, son of Joseph and Katherine Sterk Hennick. Born October 30, 1919, one of 14 children. He grew up working on the family farm and finished school after the 8th grade. At age, 16 he enlisted in the Marine Corp. and served seven years, during WWII. During this time, he served as a guard on the Great Wall of China. He also served in Okinawa. After his military service, he worked various jobs. He married and later retired from Brockway Glass. Frank passed away on December 31, 2014 at the age of 95.
Frank and Emma married on December 25, 1951.
They are survived by four daughters; Jean (Geoff) Simpson of FL; Jane Hennick, Judy Hennick, and Jamie (Chuck) Toward all of Washington; six grandchildren, Angie (Scott) McCave of WV, Rebecca and Emily Simpson of Alaska and Florida; Denite Sutton, Cody and Colton McAvoy, all of Washington; three great grandchildren, Isaiah Lonsinger, Roman McCave and Irridessa Sutton.
Services were private and handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington.
