Walter “Bud” Hupp, 92 of Washington, died Friday, October 2, 2015 at Hawthorne Woods.
He was born August 20, 1923 in Banetown, the son of the late John and Bertha Bedillion Hupp.
Bud was a veteran of U.S. Army serving in World War II, where he received Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two bronze stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two bronze stars, Good Conduct Ribbon and the Victory Medal.
He graduated from Trinity High School and was employed at Drakenfield as a supervisor for 40 years.
Bud was a member of Amity United Methodist and a life member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
On March 15, 1943 he married Betty Tharp, who survives. They were married for 72 years.
Also surviving are a son, Jan Edward Hupp of Houston; a brother, Worley (Norma) Hupp of Banetown.
Deceased are a son, Jeffrey Allen Hupp, two sisters, Marjorie Frazee, Edith McLellan.
Friends will be received Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington where services will be held Monday, October 5, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Lois Swestyn officiating. Burial will follow Amity United Methodist Church Cemetery.
