Kenneth Edgar “Big Ken” Milligan, 64, of Washington, died Saturday, September 26, 2015, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born December 28, 1950, in Elrama, a son of the late William McKinley Milligan and Thelma Hunter Milligan.
Mr. Milligan graduated from Monongahela High School in 1968 and joined the Marines on his 18th birthday. In addition to the Marines, he served in the Marine Reserves, National Guard and Army Reserves, compiling nine years of accredited service.
He worked as a psychiatric aid at Mayview State Hospital for more than 20 years.
Mr. Milligan was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and L.O.O.M. 22.
“Big Ken,” as his friends knew him, enjoyed camping and karaoke. He made his friends smile with his version of some songs that he changed the words to.
His legacy is his three grandchildren, of whom he was very proud. Their “Pap-Pap” loved them more than they will ever know, for forever and a day.
On June 12, 1971, he married Deborah Sue Cole, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Kelley Sue Milligan of Washington, Denise Marie Moore (Floyd) of Canton Township and Wendy Lea Himmelrick (JT) of Avella; a brother, Richard Milligan of Alaska; and three grandchildren, Hunter Alan Moore, Seth Paul Moore, and William Kenneth Himmelrick.
Deceased are two brothers, William and James.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at Noon, Wednesday, September 30th. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
