Leo J. Korowicki, 84, of Washington, died on Thursday, September 24, 2015, in the Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 6, 1930, in Washington, a son of the late Stanley and Wanda Yamrog Korowicki.
A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mr. Korowicki was employed as a supervisor at Forbes Steel Company, in Canonsburg. He had also been a constable for the City of Washington, 7th Ward.
Leo served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany.
Mr. Korowicki was a member of the Edward Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion, and the Polish and Pulaski Clubs.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.
On May 16, 1953, he married Margaret “Marge” Yankovitch, with whom he celebrated sixty-two years of marriage.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Margaret, are three children, Patricia Casper, of Washington, Edward J. (Vicky) Korowicki, of Meadowlands; and Lisa K. (Sid) Manning, of Washington; two brothers, Casimier Jessie Korowicki, of Washington, and Robert (Winnie) Korowicki, of Washington; six grandchildren, Jason (April Carrigan) Casper, of Washington, Joseph (Catherine) Korowicki, of Houston, Kristen (Dave) Casper Larusse, of Pittsburgh, Mark (Amber) Korowicki, of Canonsburg, Alissa Casper, of Washington, and Maggie Manning, of Washington; two great grandchildren, Madison Korowicki and Philip Casper Larusse; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, September 28, 2015, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Entombment will follow in the Washington Cemetery Mausoleum.
