Homer Eugene Miller, Jr., 91, of West Alexander, died September 17, 2015, in Kade Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born September 5, 1924, in West Alexander, a son of Homer Miller, Sr., and Sarah Rankin Miller.
Mr. Miller was a diesel mechanic and supervisor for Windmill Truck Stop for 25 years.
He loved his pet donkeys, picking berries and going to flea markets.
Mr. Miller was a member of Rolling Hills Chapel and enjoyed singing in church.
During World War II, he served in the Army.
In January 1992, he married Martha Jean Flack, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Clyde E. Miller (Kathleen) of Washington and Donald W. Miller (Donna) of West Alexander; a brother, Ralph C. Miller of Washington; eight grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his first wife, Charlotte; a sister, Wilma; and two brothers, Clyde and Delbert “Tink” Miller.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 21st, with Rev. George Plants officiating. Burial will follow in West Finley Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Hunt-Kennedy Post 639.
