Kathleen Holloway Cage

Kathleen Holloway Cage, 84 of Prosperity, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born August 9, 1931 in Vestaburg, the daughter of the late Horace Holloway and Elizabeth Gallagher Holloway. Kathleen was a 1949 graduate of Trinity High School. Prior to her retirement she worked as a Bell Telephone operator. After taking time off to raise her family, she returned to work at Galatin Bank as a teller for more than 26 years. Kathleen was a resident of Prosperity for 70 years. She was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and a scout mother to many Prosperity youth. She loved traveling, sitting on her front porch and spending time with her family. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, volunteering at Presbyterian Senior Care and dedicating over 25 years of service as a volunteer at the Washington Hospital. She served on committees including the Trinity class reunions, Bell Telephone Ten Year Club and the Southmont Council President where she became an advocate for her fellow residents. She called the Presbyterian Southmont her home and the staff her family. She faced every challenge with confidence and determination. She was such a positive individual and she brought smiles to all of those who knew her. Surviving are a son, David McVay of West Finley; a daughter, Janice (Bob) Ruffolo of Prosperity; two grandchildren, Bobby (Danielle) Ruffolo of Canonsburg and Kami (Brian) Manni of Canonsburg; and three great grandchildren, Gianna and Bella Ruffolo and Luca Manni; a sister, Connie (Lonnie) Bristor of Washington; sister-in-law, Lucille Holloway of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents are two brothers, Bill (Marion) Holloway and Bertram Holloway; two sisters, Betty (Edward) McDonald and Dorothy (Norton) Gough. A Memorial Service will be held at the Presbyterian Senior Care Chapel on Friday, September 11th at 9:00 a.m. The family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the Presbyterian Senior Care Benevolence Fund, 850 S. Main St., Washington, PA 15301.
