William David Frazier, Sr., 93, of Washington, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015, in Donnell House.
He was born February 18, 1922, in Superior, West Virginia, a son of Harry and Rose Perry Frazier.
Mr. Frazier worked for Jessop Steel for many years and was a member of Trinity Church, Washington.
During World War II, Mr. Frazier served with the Army in the European Theater of Operations. He was involved in campaigns in Rome-Arno, Po Apennines, Southern France, and Normandy and air combat in the Balkans. His awards included the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one silver star, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, and Distinguished Unit Badge. He was honorably discharged on October 24, 1945, as a Technical Sergeant.
For the past four years, Mr. Frazier lived in Hawthorne Woods Assisted Living.
On May 30, 1948, he married Janet Louise Frazier, who died June 6, 2007.
Surviving are a son, William Frazier, Jr., (Joan) of Northfield, Illinois; a daughter, Linda Suzanne Campanella of Grapevine, Texas; a brother, Dutch Frazier (Diane) of Washington; three grandchildren, Michael Campanella (Megan) of Murrysville, Daniel Campanella (Ashley) of Grapevine, Texas, and Andrew Frazier of Chicago, Illinois; and three great-grandchildren, Esther, Addy and Dominic Campanella.
Deceased are a brother, John Frazier; and three sisters, Stella McFeely, Sid Buchanan and Doris Wilson.
Friends will be received Friday from Noon till 1 p.m., the time of service, in Trinity Church, 550 South Main Street, Washington, with Rev. Karen Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery chapel by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
