Gretchen Ann Brunner

Gretchen A. Brunner, 63, of Washington, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015, in her residence. She was the beloved wife of David C. “Red” Brunner, whom she married April 17, 1971. She was the loving mother of Katrina (Robert) Schlichtkrull of Wexford; Andrew (Nicole) Brunner of Hominy, Oklahoma; Randall Brunner of Bethel Park; Stanley Brunner of Washington; Amanda Brunner of Washington; Samantha (Keith) Barron of Ray City, Georgia; and Abigail (Eduardo) Lucero of La Mesa, California. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, David, Michaela, Alina, Emilia, Gabriana, Elyssa, Lucas, Paige and Riley; two brothers, Mark (Betty) Schultz of Cranberry and Kurt (Chris) Schultz of Fombell; and three sisters, Jennifer Roberts of the state of California, Rebecca Hadrichy of Oakmont, and Maureen (Don) Anderson of the state of Indiana. Deceased are a daughter, Edith “Edie” Brunner; two brothers; and two sisters. Mrs. Brunner was born July 10, 1952, in Wexford, a daughter of the late Edward Amel Schultz and Edith Marie Sutherland Schultz. She graduated from North Allegheny High School and worked as a bank teller at Washington Federal for 20 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Roman Catholic Church, Meadowlands, where she was a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Christian Mothers. Mrs. Brunner loved spending time with her family, loved birds, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, canning and collecting Santa Clauses and ceramic chickens. In addition, she was an avid rose gardener. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Friday, August 7th, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, with Father Carmen D’Amico as celebrant. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Those attending the funeral mass are to meet at the church.
