Leonard Dutch Williamson

Leonard L. (Dutch) Williamson, 69, of Washington, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, in the Donnell House after a seven year courageous battle with bone cancer. He was born February 7, 1946, in Washington D.C., son of the late Leonard Lewis “Caboose” Williamson and Wodea Solomon Williamson. Mr. Williamson graduated from Washington High School in 1964. On October 7, 1964, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until October 3, 1968. For his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Williamson worked at Washington Steel, as a roller, retiring after forty years of service. He was a member of the Elks, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and golfing. Mr. Williamson was a member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church. In 1969, he married Linda Sue Firestone, who died March 20, 2002. On April 28, 2014, he married Ellen Elliott, in St. Augustine, Florida. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Leonard (Lenny) Williamson, and wife, Kimberly, of Lexington Park, MD, and Jeffrey Williamson, wife Jessica, of West Finley; three brothers, John (Carol) Williamson, Charles (Carol) Williamson, and Michael (Georgetta) Williamson, all of Washington; two step children, Steve Elliott, of Washington, and Sonya Roberts, of Scenery Hilll; grandchildren, Alexa, Ariel, Adalynn and Aubrey Williamson, of Lexington Park, Maryland, Ian (Gina) Williamson, of Norfolk, Virginia, and Hunter and Blake Williamson, of West Finley; a great granddaughter, Sutton Williamson, of Lexington Park, Maryland; and three step grandchildren, Ariauna Elliott, Ronan Roberts, and Keegan Roberts. Deceased is a granddaughter, Chloe. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion, Edwin Scott Linton, Post 175.
