James Robert “Bob” Stewart, 68, of Washington, died unexpectedly, Friday, July
24, 2015.
He was born March 19, 1947, in Washington, a son of the late Lindsey “Red” Stewart and Grace Stout “Jean” Stewart.
Mr. Stewart graduated from McGuffey High School in 1965.
In 1970, he graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy. He served in the state police, retiring On July 6, 1995, while stationed at the Chambersburg Post.
Mr. Stewart was a member of the F.O.P., Retired State Police Association of Pennsylvania, and the 32 Degree Masons - Gen. James Chambers.
He was an Independent Marketing Consultant for the Medicine Shop for the past 15 years.
On December 4, 1999, he married Joan Whitener, of Washington, who survives.
Surviving also are a brother, William H. (Jane) Stewart, of Rockford, IL.; a sister, Margaret J. “Peggy” Stewart, of Claysville; two grandchildren, Lauren and Ariel, a great grandchild, Layne James; a stepson, Rod Mowl, of Marianna; several nieces and nephews, Debbie, Brad, and Kevin Stewart, and Angela Stewart-Zullo; and 4 great nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Scott Allen Stewart, and a stepson, Michael Logue.
At the request of the deceased, private services were held. Arrangements were entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
