John William “Jack” Mazon, Jr., 81, of Adah, formerly of Washington and Houston, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, in his home.
He was born May 8, 1934, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John W. Mazon, Sr., and Ruth Coon Mazon.
Mr. Mazon served in the Air Force from September 1, 1954, until his honorable discharge on August 15, 1958, as an Airman, 2nd class.
He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Mazon worked as an auto mechanic and loved bowling and watching baseball, especially the Pirates.
Mr. Mazon was affiliated with the Assemblies of God.
Surviving are two daughters, Amanda J. Mazon of Washington and Lisa Mazon Roth of Florida; three brothers, David Mazon, Ralph Mazon and Delazon Frier; two sisters, Joyce Watson and Ginney Isherwood; and several grandchildren, including Makayla Mazon, Addison Smith and Emily Smith.
Deceased are two brothers, Ed and Raymond Robert Mazon; and two sisters, Edith Tate and Shirley Monroe.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 28th, with Rev. Matthew Openbrier officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
