Ethel Marie White Murphy, 90, of Washington, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, in Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
She was born June 15, 1925, in Barnesboro, a daughter of the late Albert White and Marie Strange White.
Mrs. Murphy graduated from Verona High School and was a cashier at Ames Department Store.
She was a member of Washington Alliance Church.
On February 1, 1947, she married William Murphy, who died October 4, 1994.
Surviving are two sons, William G. (Doris) Murphy of Osceola Mills and Michael D. (Lisa) Murphy of Oakmont; a daughter, Luanna M. (Kenneth) Sproul of Washington; two sisters, Belinda Walton of Rennerdale and Frances Scoglietti of Hopwood; nine grandchildren, Melissa (Matthew) Merendino, Juliane (Brian) Wallace, Rachel (John) Michalko, Sarah Sproul, Mindy Murphy, Marie (Jamie) Murphy, Mark (Kitiya) Murphy and Ashley and Jennifer Murphy; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two brothers, Charles and Glenn White, and three sisters, Anna Shott, Alberta McKean and Roberta Gournic.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, in Washington Alliance Church, with the Rev. William G. Murphy officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Cheswick.
