William Theodore Schumacher, 78, of Washington, formerly of Claysville, died on Sunday, July 12, 2015, in Canonsburg Hospital, having been in declining health.
He was born on February 12, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a son of Harry and Anna Heinemann Schumacher.
Mr. Schumacher had worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction, for more than 30 years at Victor Dosse Contracting.
William was a member of the Loyal Order of the MOOSE, and the Arms Club.
On August 26, 1961, he married Elsie Davis, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, William (Jennifer) Schumacher, of Washington; a daughter, Laurie (Terry) Harrison, of Eighty-Four; three brothers, LeRoy (Millie) Schumacher, of Bethel Park, August (Loretta) Schumacher, of Williamsburg, VA, and Walter Schumacher, of Florida; a sister, Anna Cardilla, of New Port Richey, FL; six grandchildren, William Schumacher, Jr., Julie Schumacher, Danielle Schumacher, Dustin Schumacher, Elizabeth Schumacher, and Ethan Sanders; three step grandchildren, Doug, Nick, and Mike Harrison; and three great grandchildren, Taylor, Quinn, and Braxton Schumacher;
Deceased are two brothers, Harry and Henry Schumacher.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday, July 15, 2015, from 11 to 12:00 p.m., the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, with Shirley and Clyde Davis officiating.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
