Betty Jane Tucker

Betty Jane Tucker, 84 of Washington, died Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Transitions Health Care. She was born March 2, 1931 in Smith Township, the daughter of the late Charles Melvin McGinnis and Margaret Mary Schultz McGinnis. Betty was a nurse’s aide at the Washington County Health Center for 15 years. She enjoyed gardening; puzzle books and feeding the outdoor animals. On November 27, 1954 she married Virgil Howard Tucker, who died March 15, 2011. Surviving are four daughters, Mary Tucker of Washington, Kathryn Murray of Washington, Karen Tucker of Wendell, NC and Amy Tucker of Washington; a brother, Willard McGinnis of Follansbee, WV; two grandchildren, Syrena (Colt) Kovatch and Ryan (Gretchen) Porter; three great grandchildren, Tessa, Liam and Destin. Deceased are three brothers and two sisters. At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington.
