Margaret Ann Bonner

Margaret Ann “Margie” Bonner, 98, of Washington, passed away peacefully in her sleep, in the Donnell House, on Monday, July 6, 2015. She was born on May 27, 1917, in Wolfdale, the daughter of Harry and Hazel Penn Jordan. Mrs. Bonner had been a homemaker for most of her life, and had also worked as a teacher’s aide in Florida, for twelve and a half years. She and her husband Bob moved to Fort Myers, FL, where they became involved in Seashell clubs and crafts. They moved back to Pennsylvania in 2003. Margaret lived at Strabane Trails for eight years, and spent the last eighteen months with her son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Barb Moninger. Kim Hanna, her granddaughter, was her caregiver. She was a member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church. Surviving are two sons, Dick (Barb) Moninger, of Washington, and Duane (Carolyn Sue) Moninger, of Santee, SC; five grandsons, Rick Moninger, of Peters Township, Jeff Moninger, of Washington, Greg (Nancy) Moninger, of Charlotte, NC, Brad Wurtzer, of Oakdale, and Billy (Cindy) Swats, of Florida; three granddaughters, Lori (David) Orlando, of Tennessee, Kimberly Hanna, of Hickory, Krista (Eric) Miller, of Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Norma Neil, of Kentucky, and Evelyn Simpson, of Washington; eight great grandchildren, Kalynn and Austin Hanna, of Hickory, Alyssa and Dalton Miller, of Ohio, Brandi (David) Farricielli, of Florida, Kierstan Hagan, of Florida, Chelsey Swats, and William Zachery (Haley) Swats, of Florida, and six great-great grandchildren. Deceased are her husbands, Orley Delbert (Buck) Moninger, and Robert Bonner; a son, Edward Moninger; a daughter, Audrey Jean Moninger; a step-daughter, Phyllis Swats; a granddaughter, Leslie Moninger Leyh; a sister, Dorothy Bonner; and four brothers, Harry, John, Tom, and Milt Jordan. Friends will be received on Thursday, July 9, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the time of services, in Fairhill Manor Christian Church, with Rev. Michael Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fairhill Manor Christian Church, 351 Montgomery Ave., Washington, PA 15301 or Donnell House, Hospice Care of Washington Health System, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, PA 15301.
