Pastor Janet Alice Popovich, 68 of Burgettstown, died unexpectedly Monday, July 6, 2015 at home.
She was born June 1, 1947 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Joseph Surmick and Anna Orschler Surmick.
She graduated from South Hills High School in 1965 and attended Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and the Shiloh Bible Institute.
Janet was formerly a beautician before becoming a minister and co-director of Shiloh Bible Institute.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with family and grandchildren. She was a very caring and giving person.
On October 1, 1966 he married Edward King Popovich who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Matthew Popovich of Bethel Park; a daughter Bernadette (Don) Dayak of Washington; two sisters Anna Kagle of Bethel Park and Barbara Daniels of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Shaley, Desiree and Deidra; one great grandchild, Avva; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, John Popovich; a brother, Joseph Surmick; a twin sister, Joan Strang.
Friends will be received Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Bible Institute, 147 Griffith Ave, Washington. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens.
